Can Sulastic be installed on my Chevrolet/GMC 1500HD?
The (2001-2008) Chevrolet/GMC 1500 HD Crew Cab was built using heavy-duty pickup truck attributes, this attribute includes a reinforced hanger bracket and the sulastic shackle has an interference on the rear reinforcement.
In order to install the Sulastic shackles is required to remove (grind or cut) the reinforcement on the hanger bracket or change it for a different hanger bracket which has not the reinforcement
Can Sulastic be installed if my Chevrolet/GMC has the Quadrasteer feature?
Yes, Quadrasteer feature does not interfere with Sulastic shackles installation and performance because its design didn’t affect the leaf spring suspension.
How much area of the hanger must be removed?
It is required to remove the area which interferes with the Sulastic metal casting.
Why the Sulastic model SA-01 TI?
This model has a specific driver’s and passenger’s side shackle, this is because the shackle was cut on one side in order to be installed out of center and move away from the frame.
Sulastic shackles last 2 generations were modified on the casting and the lower reinforcement was removed to avoid interferences and area to be removed
The cut side must face the fender. All the metal washers must be installed on the frame side. Photo shown is the Passenger’s side
